Record Utilities: Correct a Meter Reading

It is quick and easy to correct or reset a meter's previous reading.

Table of Contents

Delete a previous meter reading.

Deleting a previous meter reading is super simple, click Options then click Delete last reading.

This delete process may be completed as many times as necessary to clear previous dates or remove previous readings.

Correct the date or meter reading on a previous entry.

You can change an incorrect meter read using the Do not charge feature. You may change only read date, only the meter number, or both at the same time.
  1. Set the date to the desired Previous date.
  2. Scroll to the unit.
  3. Enter the desired meter reading in Current and select Do not charge.
  4. Click Save.
Caution: If the desired date is before the displayed previous reading, you will need to delete the previous reading(s). To update the displayed previous reading, a meter entry must be on or after the date of the previous reading. An entry prior to the displayed previous reading will save and show in the unit's meter history but the displayed previous reading will not update.

Reset a meter to zero (0).

Resetting a meter to zero, or changing the meter to any other number, uses the same process as correcting a previous entry. Click here to be taken to the beginning of the directions above.

Tip: You can run a Utility Readings report to see meter readings and charges entered during a specific date range.
