Overview
A unit class is a way of categorizing your units. This helps with mass editing unit changes in the Import/Export Tool and helps filter units viewed throughout the Firefly system, like when viewing the grid or reports. Classes also allow you to require guests to book by unit class instead of selecting a specific unit.
Adding a New Unit Class
Unit classes are a helpful way of categorizing your units.
- Click Settings

- Type a Class Name and Description
- Click Save
Editing a Unit Class
If a unit is showing in the wrong unit class, it might be that the wrong class is listed under the unit settings. To change the unit class for any specific unit, you can do so by following these steps:
- Click Settings
- Click Units
- Click on the Unit you need to adjust
- Under the General Tab, click on the Unit Class drop down and choose the class you wish for the unit to have
- Click Save
TIP: Did you know you can allow guests to book a reservation by selecting a specific unit or a unit class? When guests book by unit class, they select the type of unit they want allowing Firefly to automatically assign a unit from the class and allowing you to move the unit as needed without the guest ever knowing. Check out the feature here: How do I hide unit numbers from guests when they book a reservation?
